Emily & Chris | June 13th, 2015

National Harbor, MD

I won't forget the warmth Bobby and I felt when we first met Chris, Emily, and her mother, Jodi, at the Gaylord National Harbor. I knew instantly that we would have a wonderful time documenting this union. I loved watching Emily flutter her eyelashes at Chris (as Jodi smiled on) while we heard their story and made plans for a fairytale wedding in June. 

The big day arrives and I smile when we are reunited with our bride. I love getting to meet the rest of her lovely family and watching our friends at Charm City Top Knots work their magic with stunning hair and makeup. Emily is breathtaking as she comes down the stairway to meet her groom. They both tear up as soon as they see each other, not many dry eyes in the house.

The ceremony concludes outside with a butterfly release in honor of Emily's father, Greg.  I was so saddened to hear of his sudden passing 6 months before the wedding. Bobby and I know not having here him on this day is tough, and give the family all the love we have. As the last butterfly leaves Emily's finger, the skies open up and a crack of thunder is heard. He is present in spirit, if not body. Guests hustle inside to beat the rain and smile, knowing Greg is looking down on them all. 

The ballroom is draped from top to bottom with fabric and gorgeous uplighting from Black Tie Entertainment. Emily's sister and Chris's brother both deliver heartwarming speeches, with some great laughs mixed in. After a pretty romantic cake exchange, the guests hit the dance floor. Chris wraps his darling bride in his arms until the last dance, then whisks her away for happily every after.
