Martha & Ben | Alexandria, VA

It's pretty easy to fall in love with Martha and Ben. They are the infectious sort of couple that loves to work hard, and have a good ole time. They both seem to live by a code of kindness and honesty that is irresistible. And there's the simple fact, that is quite obvious to everyone:

Ben loves Martha and Martha loves Ben. 

Bobby took a picture of these two at Jill & Dean's wedding last year. That's how we got to know Ben, through his sister, Jill. After coming to love the entire Beitel family, it was such a wonderful addition, meeting Martha. It was clear everyone else felt she'd be a great "addition" too. When Bobby captured a candid moment of Martha and Ben looking so much in love, we both thought we might hear from them soon. We were right! 

Our friendship bloomed, as did their romance, when we photographed their engagement last fall. 

But today is the big day, June 12th, the one we've been waiting for.

The weather is hot, but the sun is shining. We start the day at Hotel Monaco, where the 11 lovely ladies (including a 12th very little lady) enjoy some hair and makeup. Martha looks gorgeous and is all aglow. 

After video games and car decorating at Martha and Ben's new home, the guys and I come to the hotel. With the help of a great team, we pull off a "not quite first look." The lovebirds join hands, back to back, and enjoy a moment before heading off to the church. 

The ceremony at St. Mary's is lovely. The bride and groom cannot take their eyes off each other, there is so much love between these two. 

The entourage takes to the streets of Old Town, looking good and just beating the rain for some wedding party shots. The storm clouds open up just after we get to Oxon Hill Manor. 

After waiting out the storm with some relaxation and romance in the bridal suite, the happy couple joins the party. And what a party it is. Spirits are high, and are being enjoyed. The heat doesn't keep people off the dance floor, including Martha, who dances all night. Delicious dinner and cake, an epic garter and bouquette toss, a night filled with love and fabulous people. 

Nothing can beat it. Nothing except one last stop at the National Harbor ferris wheel for a kiss. 

What a gorgeous wedding!
