Joanna & Wil's Wedding | June 9th, 2017

Springfield Manor | Thurmont, MD

In one my favorite romantic films, The Notebook, lead character Noah Calhoun says, "I have loved another with all my heart and soul, and for me, that has always been enough." This line stands out to me. Love, truly, is all you need. Bobby and I discovered that many years ago...lucky for us, we're wedding photographers!

On this beautiful June day, those words felt particularly close to my heart. Maybe it was because our groom happens to look exactly like Noah Calhoun, or maybe it was because we had such a wonderful time getting to know these two on their engagement shoot. All I knew was that it was a perfect day for a wedding!

Springfield Manor sits atop a hill backing to gorgeous mountains. Charming details like lavender fields make it a dream for photos! There are so many ideal backdrops for romantic portraits with these lovebirds.

Wil & Jo are so sweet and passionate together. I have serious respect for an emotional groom, and Wil was moved to tears throughout the day. The First Look had us all choked up!

I don't think there was a dry eye in the room during speeches from members of the family. It's no wonder because this family has such a strong bond! Our connection to Joanna is through her brother, Brian, and his wonderful wife, Caitlin. Caitlin & Brian were our first wedding amongst the McIntire family circle. Later this year we'll be documenting sister, Amy's, wedding. Bobby and I treasure getting to know each couple and documenting their love story.

What a beautiful wedding day for Jo & Wil!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Van Auken!!! Sending you all our love.

We couldn't have done it without our amazing Vendor Team!
