The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens | Vienna, VA

Bobby and I spent much of our summer photographing the parks of Northern Virginia. The NOVA Parks vary from one to the other and some are wedding venues. The buildings themselves are lovely, but what's better are the rolling hills and gardens that accompany them. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is one of my personal favorite NOVA Parks. Those flowers!!! 

Derek and Allie say "I Do" on a not-as-hot-as-it-could-have-been summer day. The sun is shining, but the groomsmen aren't melting. This is a winning combo for a late July wedding. The wedding service is held at St. James Catholic Church, with a perfect tree out front for a teary first look. 

After exploring the gardens at Meadowlark with the wedding party, Great Blue Heron Catering brings us a delicious blend of appetizers. The chef keeps us well fed!  

The dancing is incredible. As usual, Julio from Black Tie Entertainment keeps the dance floor packed, and he seems to be enjoying himself behind the booth. Everyone is feeling the energy and having a great time. In between some photo booth fun, Bobby and I snag the bride and groom for a quick photo. 

Allie and Derek's wedding falls on a blue moon night. Bobby and I too were married under a blue moon over 3 years ago. We wanted to capture that shot. After clambering around Meadowlark in the dark for a while, Bobby finds a vantage point where we can see the moon. It is a very magical moment, standing there with the newly married duo.
