DAYCATION l Harpers Ferry, MD & Surrounding Areas

There is very little that compares to the beauty of the blood, sweat, and tears shed over owning your own small business. It is an uphill climb that I so highly recommend, especially when done side by side with your partner. Over the past two and half years Bobby and I have laughed and cried through ups and down, mistakes and disappointments, victories and accolades....and ultimately come to stand on our own two feet, so proud of the business we have built. What we haven't done a lot of is take time off. And today, DAYCATION beckons, so we answer the call.

This "daycation" idea came to me last week when I realized our schedule might not allow for a summer vacation this year. After momentarily bumming out, we decided to take some day trips instead. Discover the places close by, rather than going without the much needed getaway. There is something magical that happens when we spend time alone together in nature, it renews us in a way that feels so essential, like coming home. Today, it's Weverton Cliffs on the AT, tubing on the Shenandoah, and exploring Harper's Ferry, only an hour from our front door. I'm now a born believer in the power of a daycation. 

Harper's Ferry is filled with history. You can feel it all around you. We met a friend named named Victoria and spent a romantic afternoon on this rock, like so many before us. Check out the date carved on there!
